Dr. Paul Tanners
Paul Tanners specializes in prosthodontics, and this says a lot about what a caring dentist he is: The night after a procedure has been performed, he calls each of his patients at home to make sure they are comfortable and feeling well.
His extensive education includes a D.D.S. from New York University College of Dentistry, an internship at the Manhattan Veterans Hospital, and three years of post-graduate training in prosthodontics an NYU supported by a National Institutes of Health teacher-trainee research fellowship. He also has post-graduate training in occlusion and full-mouth restorative dentistry at the Dawson Center in Florida.
Dr. Tanners established his private practice in Manhattan in 1966 and is a former staff member at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Tanners has lectured at NYU and at professional organizations and has been recognized with awards and grants by NYU and NIH, including an outstanding teacher award at NYU. Given his broad dental experience and knowledge, he is considered an expert in his field, serving as a source for such media outlets as CNN, New York Magazine, New York Times, The Early Show, Wall Street Journal, Today, and Vogue. In addition, he serves as a forensic expert in dental malpractice cases, providing testimony on both the plaintiff and defense sides. He also is a former member of the prosthodontic peer review committee of the New York County Dental Society and of other dental associations.
